Abstract

Mason is reimagining learning spaces on our campuses to foster increased student engagement through active and collaborative learning. As part of this initiative we have created an iterative design process that leverages feedback from faculty and students teaching and learning in these spaces. This poster highlights findings about student experiences in Masonâs Active Learning Classrooms (ALCs) based on surveys from the past two academic years. In total, 2,077 students completed the survey. Overall, students are overwhelmingly positive about their experiences teaching in an ALC. This poster will highlight student feedback, including the reported benefits and frustrations about learning in these spaces. Future plans and directions are also noted.
