If the Work is accepted for publication, the Corresponding Author grants to the Journal, during the full term of copyright and any extensions or renewals to that term, the following:
An irrevocable, non-exclusive right to reproduce, republish, transmit, distribute, and otherwise use the Work in electronic and print editions of the Journal and in all editions throughout the world, in all languages, and in all media now know and later developed. This does not include the right to sell the content or sell access to the content.
An irrevocable, non-exclusive right to create and store electronic archival copies of the Work. This includes the right to deposit the Work in open access digital repositories, including but not limited to preservation copies. The Publisher will provide long-term access to the Work in the Mason Archival Repository Service (MARS), using the same copyright license as it was published under in the Journal.
An irrevocable, non-exclusive right to license others to reproduce, republish, transmit, remix, rework, and distribute the Work, under the condition that the Authors are attributed.
The Journal will communicate this right to users by applying a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY-NC) license to the work.
Copyright of the Work remains with the Author(s).
Upon acceptance of the Work, the Author shall grant to the Publisher the right of first publication of the Work.
When distributing or re-publishing the Work, the Corresponding Author agrees to credit the Journal as the place of first publication. The Author is able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the nonexclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the Work (e.g., post it on the Author's website or publish it in a book), as long as there is provided in the document an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
The Corresponding Author agrees to inform the Journal of any changes in contact information.
The Corresponding Author represents and warrants that the Work is the Author's original work and that it does not violate or infringe the law or the rights of any third party. Specifically, the Corresponding Author warrants that the Work contains no matter that is defamatory or libelous, or that infringes any literary or proprietary rights, intellectual property rights, or any rights of privacy.
The Corresponding Author warrants that the Author(s) have not transferred, and will not transfer, exclusive rights in the Work to any third party.
The Corresponding Author warrants that the Work has not been previously published.
The Corresponding Author also warrants that he or she has the full power to make this agreement, and if the Work was prepared jointly, the Corresponding Author agrees to inform all additional Authors of the terms of this Agreement. The Corresponding Author agrees to hold the Journal harmless from any breach of the aforestated representations.
In consideration of the Author's grant of rights, the Journal agrees to publish the Work and make the content available online, freely accessible to all, attributing the Work to the Authors.
Content published under a CC-BY-NC license can be shared and adapted. You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use. You may not use the material for commercial purposes.
