Abstract

Masons Green Leaf designation is for courses and academic programs that are either Sustainability-Focused or Sustainability-Related. Launched in 2011, the Green Leaf list now includes over 100 courses and 19 academic programs from a wide range of departments. Mason receives credit on various academic sustainability rating indices for officially identifying academic offerings in sustainability; and, beginning in fall 2014, the University will begin to recognize students who chart a Green Leaf path through their General Education requirements. This poster has three purposes: 1. To inform faculty from all units about the Green Leaf course designation and the proposed Green Leaf path through General Education. 2. To encourage faculty from all units to propose an existing course for Green Leaf designation. 3. To let faculty teaching General Education classes know about the support they can receive if they wish to redesign their courses so that they qualify for Green Leaf designation.
