This session will introduce faculty to the Office of Fellowships and discuss strategies and techniques for teaching undergraduate students personal essay-writing and presentation skills necessary for prestigious scholarship and fellowship opportunities. The workshop will include an interactive, handson discussion with faculty participants about qualities and characteristics of successful fellowship applicants, specific assignments that help students learn how to write for fellowship applications, and how to write successful letters of recommendation. Each workshop participant will receive a fellowships toolkit that includes referral cards, sample assignments, handouts on writing effective letters of recommendation, and advising sheets for specific fellowships.Published
