Abstract

"Blended Learning" is a concept that both appeals to and repels faculty regarding its efficacy. Whether you find the concept attractive due to simplified logistics or effective learning strategies, or whether you tend to dismiss it as a "fools' gold," this presentation will give a striking example of how a course can be designed to take advantage of the blended framework and produce deeper student engagement. This presentation also illustrates how to assess instructional challenges within this same framework. Then we will engage participants in an exercise in which they can take one course learning objective and consider their own activities and assessments and how they might best fit a blended class setting and how they align with the learning objectives.
