Abstract

Social, economic, political, and generational changes are driving students to opt for online and hybrid learning, and universities are encouraging faculty to meet this demand. As a result, scholar-teachers face not only the challenge of providing high-quality teaching and exemplary learning in emerging environments, but also the imperative to embrace "the profession of teaching as a 'practice' in which we value experimentation and innovation and discover the unexpected which may completely redefine our concept of a "good class.'" In this session, the SOSTCe-L will present preliminary results from the first year of a collaborative, crossdisciplinary research project which extends the application of the self-study of teaching methodology to e-learning.
