Abstract

In this mini workshop, participants will enter a virtual classroom using Blackboard Collaborate Ultra (participants should bring a laptop with Wi-Fi access, headphones and microphone are highly recommended.) They will become immersed in the synchronous online setting while learning both pedagogical and technological strategies that increase student engagement, student access, and build a classroom community. The presentation is differentiated for beginners through experts in online teaching. These strategies have been researched and tested by the presenter in over 20 synchronous online courses.
