"TEACHING TABLES I:" Using a Comprehensive Exam to Assess Student Competencies Program-Wide

Abstract

The ultimate test for how well a curriculum is addressing their programââ¬â¢s competencies is the results achieved by students. The ultimate goal is to achieve a curriculum that is evidence based and produces graduates that are ready to enter the workforce with the requisite knowledge, skills and attributes of an early career professional. The Department of Health Administration and Policy has implemented and end of program comprehensive exam to address this challenge.à Participants will share experiences using alternative tools for measuring student proficiency with program competencies and determine if a comprehensive exam is an appropriate tool for their own programs.
