As faculty work with undergraduate students in research and creative activities, your mentees will increasing ask for your help in applying for graduate school, grants, fellowships, study abroad programs, and jobs. One of the most time-consuming aspects of this kind of advising is writing letters of recommendation. Getting the letter right ââ¬â interesting, persuasive, topical, and useful to the reader ââ¬â isnââ¬â¢t easy. In this panel presentation, writers and readers of these recommendations come together to give you an outline of what is expected in an excellent letter of recommendation, and how to work with students to streamline the process. And hopefully youââ¬â¢ll get to celebrate their acceptance into their programs of choice!
