College classrooms are becoming increasingly diverse, and regardless of the areas in which we teach, we cannot choose to ignore this diversity nor can we ask students to leave their various identities ââ¬Åat the door.ââ¬Â This interactive session will provide participants an opportunity to explore strategies for creating an inclusive classroom climate as well as for facilitating discussions of difficult topics around identity, status, and structures of power, such as racism, patriarchy, classism, heteronormativity, native bias, and so on.àEveryone is welcome, including those with years of expertise who can share strategies, and those who are just beginning to explore classroom climate and facilitate difficult conversations.ÃÂ
