Increased reliance on wireless technology across all aspects of life has created a need for fast, reliable, and most importantly, secure communication standards. Fifth-generation telecommunication infrastructure (5G) is seen as the paradigm technology upon which many future developments will rely. As such, ensuring the security of these networks is vital. 5G networks can be secured and managed through architecture revolving around Open Network Automation Platform (ONAP), which helps to automate network processes. Kubernetes node clustering is essential to the virtualization aspect of 5G, providing the ability to manipulate virtual network functions (VNFs) alongside Openstack network controllers. When combined, these systems make it possible for 5G to be integrated with ONAP and controlled at an individualized level, bolstering its security.
