“Dialogues in World History” is a new a feature in which world history processes and practices are the subject of accessible, brief discussion or debate. Here, Patrick Manning, a former Director of the World History Center at the University of Pittsburg as well as a past President of the American Historical Association, and Tom Laichas, a historian, poet and the initial co-editor of this journal, explore the meaning and implications for both anthropology and world historical studies of the already popular and controversial book by David Graeber and David Wengrow, The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity (2021).
