Abstract

In this presentation based on the 2018 Higher Education Dissertation of the Year, we will explore student-instructor rapport from the faculty perspective. Using data collected from in-depth interviews of college teachers, advice will be offered for online (and face-to-face) rapport-building, along with some words of caution about the challenges of building rapport between online instructors and their students.
