Abstract

What is the Digital Scholarship Center (DiSC)? Our services and expertise include: discovery, creation, analysis, and visualization of digital text, data, and media, including digital humanities as well as qualitative, quantitative, and geospatial methods and software. Plus, assistance with digital project planning and management including research data management, curation, archiving, and much more!
Who do we help? DiSC works with students, faculty, and staff doing digital scholarship in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences â weâre multidisciplinary. Our clients use and can get assistance with software such as: ArcGIS, QGIS, SPSS, Stata, SAS, NVivo, Atlas.ti, QDA Miner, Voyant, Gephi, MALLET, etc., and related functions in Excel, Python, and R.
Located in a newly renovated space on the second floor of Fenwick Library, the University Libraries built DiSC by combining our existing Data Services program with two new lab areas adding more technology, more software and more instruction/collaboration opportunities across disciplines. DiSC staff will be available to answer questions and discuss what we do.
